Is there an inner bear wanting to roar?
Is there something you’re dying to say and don’t want to offend someone?
Feeling hopeless and stressed at home or at work?
Afraid they will react and get the wrong impression?
Feeling really over powering emotions coming up and a barrage of thoughts which will not go away? Why do you think they will be offended or react in a negative way? Why do you not trust that person – or even yourself?
Feeling stressed at work? Is a colleague’s behaviour at work challenging you and and you need to understand and address the strong emotions you are feeling?
Writing down our feelings in a journal help us to unravel how we truly feel and helps to dissipate the feelings – until we are really clear and can write down what is truly right for us.
Maybe you’d like to explore your feelings in more depth?
Where are your limits being challenged?
How can you make sure that your limits are not exceeded? We can’t hit people these days but this is where swearing CAN be useful every now and again where it is REALLY relevant and nothing else will pull the person up to really listen; especially if you do not normally swear. What are your core values which are being challenged?
First be clear what the challenge is and be sure of your stance and KNOW YOU ARE RIGHT TO THE VERY CORE OF YOU. Voice your choice again and then if it is still not heard take a strong stance with your feet slightly apart and make fists pointing down beside you and firmly tell the person they are not getting away with this action.
Time to take on your power and make a stand. Have you seen the Film Dances with Wolves? (I’m showing my age now!). Do you remember the woman? She’s called ‘STANDS WITH FISTS’.
She was a white girl who was taken by a native American Indian tribe. Because she was different she had to stand up for herself. So she stood up with arms held at her sides with her hands in fists. She did not actually have to hit anyone – they just KNEW she would hit them if they pushed her too far- so they did not push her beyond what they somehow knew were her limits. She had shown she was like a BEAR.
How does it feel to be strong? You have become the BEAR.
What are the effects, of you being strong, on you and the other person?
Write down the outcome – even if it was not what you hoped to gain.
The person knows you will stand up for yourself now.
What have you learnt about yourself from taking your power?
What have you learnt about them?
Is it a surprising thing you have learnt?
Is there something you did not realise was happening between you?
What decision have you made as a result?
How can you keep to your decision?
Transform strong emotional negative feelings about someone into more self-love.
By this I mean when we stand up for what is right for us we step out of the VICTIM role into the BEAR.
May your inner BEAR be with you this magical day as you create new coping strategies and a positive mind-set with someone you can trust when you are at your most vulnerable, and with whom you can plan those difficult but important conversations.
Make the right decisions. I can help.
First I listen and understand your situation.
Ask you questions which enable you to identify your strengths, create those coping strategies and a positive mind-set – and then give you the extra push you need.
You’re in a safe space where you can lick our wounds – and then get up again and face up to what is happening. Become stronger inside, clearer, confident.
Work out what is truly right for you; make what is right for you really happen.
Trust that you really can get out the other side.
You are the most important person in your life. Put yourself first.
Use Coaching and Mindfulness to overcome anger, frustration, anxiety, fear, shame or simply deep hurt.
I can help you identify what really matters to you and communicate your feelings clearly. Becoming more aware of where and when your principles are being compromised means you become more assertive.
